An Extra’s Rise in an Eroge

Chapter 29 Awakening (Final)

After a moment's silence, the questions came all at once.

"Arthur, where were you?" Iliyana asked, her eyes wide with concern.

"What happened after you passed out?"

"Weren't you supposed to be at Ares' sanctuary?" Elona added.

"Why did it take so long?" Emily joined in.

"Calm down!" Arthur said, raising his hands. "I'll explain everything. Just let me speak."

The room quieted, all eyes on him, waiting for answers.

"Why don't we all sit down? This might take a while." Arthur suggested.

Elona snapped her fingers, and five chairs appeared out of thin air. Arthur took the seat opposite his parents and sisters, who settled in, ready to listen.

Arthur began his story, though he left out many details, choosing to reveal only a small part of what he'd experienced. "First, when I opened my eyes, I found myself in a lush forest. It was nothing like what Father described of Ares's sanctuary. I realized instantly that I was somewhere else entirely. After a while, I met a woman—she introduced herself as the World's Will, a primordial deity.

The Goddess of Nature, Sylva."

"World's will? Goddess of nature?" Lucious asked, surprised. "I've never heard of such a deity."

Arthur nodded. "I know. I was just as suspicious. But then, guess what happened?"

Everyone leaned in, interest piqued. "What?" they echoed in unison.

"A crack appeared in the air, and from it, the Goddess of Light, emerged."

The room went silent, stunned.

"Seraphina?" Iliyana gasped.

"Yes. She confirmed Sylva's identity, and my suspicions were gone. She really was the voice of the world," Arthur replied.

"But why summon you?" Iliyana asked, excitement in her eyes. "Did she grant you her divinity?"

Arthur didn't keep them waiting. "Yes, she did. And not just her—Seraphina, too. They both granted me their divinity, which is why I was gone so long."

His family looked at him, astonished, each of them brimming with pride and awe.

"But that wasn't the only reason they called me," Arthur continued. "Sylva wanted to pass on a warning about the demons."

At the mention of demons, the room's atmosphere turned somber.

Lucious's eyes narrowed. "What warning?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Arthur's expression hardened. "A high-level demon—possibly a Demon Lord—has entered Eldora and most probably in the northern borders."

The gravity of this news settled over them like a dark cloud. Everyone understood the potential devastation a Demon Lord could bring.

Lucious clenched his fists. "If what you're saying is true, this is serious. I'll need to depart for the borders at once. Anyone below a Grandmaster wouldn't stand a chance against a Demon Lord."

"Let's think about that later, Lucious," Iliyana said softly. "For now, let's focus on our son."

Emily leaned forward excitedly. "So, what class did you awaken, bro? What skills did you get? Are you a mage like be or swordsman like brother Adam?"

"Calm down, Emily," Elona chided with a smile. She turned to Arthur and added, "Just say 'status,' and a blue window should appear showing all the details of your awakening."

Arthur nodded, saying, "Status." But instead of a blue window, a familiar pink screen popped up.

'Sol,' he called in his mind.

[I'm here.]

Hearing the familiar voice again, He exhaled in relief.

Without waiting, she continued, [I know you left out parts of the story. We'll discuss it later.]

'Alright, ma'am,' Arthur replied, 'but could you show me my status window?'

===============================================================

Don't read next paragraph and skip to the status window. Word's are repeated under this block. Sorry about that. I write chapter somewhere else and then paste it here. I might have pasted it twice. But I can't update it now as I can only change upto 100 words and neither I can delete it and reupload it as premium chapters cannot be deleted.

I have changed the font of repeated paragrahs to italic.

It was nothing like what Father described of Ares's sanctuary. I realized instantly that I was somewhere else entirely. After a while, I met a woman—she introduced herself as the World's Will, a primordial deity. The Goddess of Nature, Sylva."

"What? A deity like that exists?" Lucious asked, looking skeptical.

Arthur nodded. "I was doubtful myself. But then, guess what happened?"

Everyone leaned in, interest piqued. "What?" they echoed in unison.

"A crack appeared in the air, and from it, the Goddess of Light, Seraphina, emerged."

The room filled with collective gasps of surprise.

"She introduced herself as Sylva's sister, and I knew then she was the voice of the world."

"But why summon you?" Iliyana asked, excitement in her eyes. "Did she grant you her divinity?"

Arthur let the suspense linger before answering. "Yes. Both Sylva and Seraphina blessed me with their divinity, which is why I was gone so long."

"But that wasn't the only reason. They also summoned me to deliver a warning about the demons," he continued.

The room's mood darkened.

"What warning?" Lucious asked, his voice tense.

"A high-level demon—possibly a demon lord—may arrive at the northern borders soon."

At the mention of a demon lord, a palpable tension filled the room. The arrival of a demon lord was no small matter; they could annihilate entire armies.

"If what you're saying is true, this is serious," Lucious said. "I'll need to depart for the northern border immediately. Anyone below grandmaster level is cannon fodder against a demon lord."

"Let's focus on our son for now, and leave future problems for later," Iliyana insisted. "Arthur, what class did you awaken to? What skills? What blessings?"

"Calm down, Emily," Elona interjected, smiling at her daughter's eagerness. She turned to Arthur. "Just say 'status'—a blue window should appear with all the details of your awakening."

Arthur nodded, saying, "Status." But instead of a blue window, a familiar pink screen popped up. He exhaled in relief. 'Sol,' he called in his mind.

Arthur's eyes lingered over his stats. 'Those blessings really boosted me—strength up to 45, stamina from 12 to 40, and I even have new stats like agility, perception, intelligence, and luck. With that much luck, maybe I'll get something useful from the gacha.'

[You can admire your stats later. Your family is waiting. And a reminder—don't reveal all your abilities or mention that you don't have a class,] Sol advised.

'Yeah, I noticed that too. Why don't I have a specific class?' Arthur asked.

[That's because of me,] Sol replied.

'What do you mean?'

[With me here, you have the potential to be anything. You can purchase any class-specific skill from the system shop, whether it's for a healer, swordsman, archer, mage, assassin… you name it. All you need are enough points,] Sol explained.

Arthur's eyes lit up. "Oh, so that's what you meant! But… what should I tell them?"

"[That's up to you. Just pick one for now,]" Sol said with a chuckle.

Turning his focus back to his family, he said, "My class is... mage."

"Excellent!" Emily cheered.

Iliyana leaned in, her curiosity bright. "What's your affinity?"

"Light," Arthur replied, omitting his space, dark, and divine affinities.

"Well, since Seraphina blessed you, it's only natural you'd have an affinity for light," Lucious said with a nod of approval.

As they discussed Arthur's awakening, the doors to the ancestral hall opened, and Adam stepped in, his expression serious.

"The cleansing is complete, Father. We found 17 demons in the mansion and 30 in the city. They've all been eliminated. The paladins and saintess have returned to the church."

Lucious gave an approving nod. "You did well, son."

Adam's gaze shifted to Arthur, curiosity sparking. "So, how did the awakening go?"

"Well, I won't say it was all smooth," his mother, Elona, said with a small smile. "Had us worried at first, but it ended on a good note."

"Why? What happened?" Adam asked, intrigued.

"I'll explain everything later. For now, I have a task for you," Lucious said, turning to Adam. "I want you to start training him in swordsmanship tomorrow. Even though his class is mage, it wouldn't hurt to have a strong foundation in swordsmanship."

"Yes, Father. Don't worry—I'll make him an intermediate swordsman before he joins the academy," Adam promised confidently.

"Excellent," Lucious replied, clearly pleased.

"Hey! He hasn't even had a day to rest since his awakening, and you're already talking about training!"

Iliyana cut in. "And I'll be training him in magic. He'll be an excellent mage like me."

"I agree, dear, but he should also learn swordsmanship," Lucious countered. "Mages are strong, but in close combat, defending oneself can be a challenge."

"He's right, Iliyana. Close-combat skills will serve him well," Elona agreed.

Lucious then suggested, "Why don't we compromise? Adam can train him in close combat in the mornings, and in the evenings, you can work on his magic."

"That's a good idea," Elona nodded in approval.

Arthur stood there in sideline, still trying to process everything as his future was decided by his parents without any input from him. Emily noticed his dumbfounded look and chuckled, leaning in with a teasing smile. "Don't worry, bro. You'll get used to it. Be glad it's not Father training you, or it'd be hell for real."

Iliyana broke the conversation, stretching as she spoke. "Well, that wraps up the matter of Arthur's awakening. Let's head to the dining hall—I haven't eaten a thing since morning. Didn't think an awakening would take this long."

"Yeah, none of us expected it," Elona agreed. "Come on, everyone."

As the family walked out, Arthur began to follow them when suddenly, a pop-up window appeared in his vision.
