Damn, I Awakened With A Horror System!

Chapter 161: Way to gain Horror points!

Click, Click.

Thick white fog shrouded their vision, hindering their senses by the amount in the process.

Slowly, the temperature in the surrounding environment began to plummet, entering their soles- sending shivers toward their being.

Gazing toward the silent canopy above, Roy couldn't help but shiver slightly- sensing that a dozen beings were staring at their figure in silence, their thought was unknown as if they still hadn't decided how they were going to attack the group.

Click, click...

"Did you hear that clicking sound?"

Andress suddenly halted, focusing his Qi toward his ears as noises began to enter his senses, filtering as the small noises of unceasing clicking sounds entered his ears- almost akin to all hearing.

"Found you..." He thought with a creepy smile before dashing toward the far niches, not concealing his movement as the air parted away.

"Wait!"

Khael in the back couldn't help but shout, caught off guard by the sudden running of Andress as they immediately followed him.

However, unnoticeable, as they were focusing on something else, the fog within the cemetery began to thicken at an alarming speed, making it difficult to discern everything 3 meters away from them.

"Hehehe~ Caught you!"

Andress smiled wickedly, immediately dashing toward the grey niches in his far front as he looked at its concrete back in hastened speed...

However, in an instant, upon looking at the thing in the back of the niches, where the origin of the clicking sound came from, Andress's dark-brown eyes abruptly constricted- feeling deep chills that ran through his bones, staying there as it sent a shiver to his very soul.

"This, there's no one here..."

He mumbled in slight fear... The expected beasts and humans didn't greet his eyes, instead, a doll with a meter height and seemingly realistic porcelain face, lifelessly facing the sky, not moving a bit, appeared in his very senses.

Invisibility or Illusion?

He thought, scanning the surroundings with extreme vigilance- not giving the doll on the ground a glance, thinking that it was only the garbage of the past civilization.

Swish...

"Did you find anything?" Seeing that Andress was not moving a bit, frowning on the spot as he often gazed toward the unknown, Khael asked in a serious yet weak voice.

"No, but..."

Click... Click...

Andress still hadn't finished speaking when the familiar sound of clicking resounded within his senses, causing his expression to change as he again rushed toward the depths of the cemetery.

"This," Helplessly, Khael could only follow the back of Andress, forgetting the fact that the other three still hadn't caught toward them.

...

"F*ck, where are those two!?" Roy, the teenager, and a man in leather armour couldn't help but curse under their breath, scanning the nearby niches that were akin to a maze, being shrouded in thick grey fog- in loss.

"This is bad, we got separated... I should have listened to my premonition to not enter this place!" Roy gritted his teeth in anxiousness, feeling that his premonition of danger was slowly increasing, to the point that he could almost smell his death!

"It shouldn't be that grave right? You are just feeling extremely anxious." The teenager said, waving his baton in swift speed, summoning a gale of wind that pushed the fog in the far distance, allowing them to discern things 15 meters away from them.

Quickly gazing toward the horizon, the group seems to see a silhouette of shadow that was rapidly rushing deep within the cemetery, making their expression change as they immediately give it a chase.

"Khael, Andress wait!" They shouted in unison...

Unfortunately, probably due to the unknown interference, fog, or the humidity of the place, the silhouette couldn't hear them as it continued to move toward the depths of the cemetery- leading them to the unknown.

"F*ck!"

Soon, the silhouette of shadow slowly vanished within their sight as the thick fog again hindered their vision, making their expression grave as they could only see the bland grass meters away.

"Drake, waved your baston again so we could see the distance!" The man, wearing leather armour, hastily said, feeling that the thick fog kept churning around them... making him feel that something was moving within it- making his skin crawl just by thinking of it.

"Huff~ on it!"

Hearing this, Drake immediately waved his baton, again summoning a gale of winds that instantly pushed the thick fog away, making the short distance clear in their sight... Slowly unfolding the old wooden house in their front- making them doubt their senses since they were quite sure that they hadn't seen it earlier.

"This, is there really someone living in this forsaken place?"

Drake mumbled in confusion, staring at the ominous old house in slight fear.

The dark mold that grew due to the humidity of the place almost covered the house- making it extremely dark and fragile in their senses.

Following that, the strange smell, coming from the unknown, similar to the decayed flesh of animals unhurriedly wafts toward their senses, inexplicably making their stomach churn.

"Gulped... Unknown skeleton?'

Roy gulps audibly, staring at the niches beside the house in complete silence.

Unlike the other niches within the surroundings that were built using concrete and cement, it was the only one built using soil... As if the person just dug a pit within without care before throwing the corpse inside, before again covering it with soil.

"Let's enter, there really might be someone living in here."

The teenager said with a wavering expression, steeling his courage as he stepped toward the old wooden stair in front of the house.

Creak... Creak.

In an instant, the annoying sound of creaking entered his senses, drilling toward his consciousness as it increased his unease, making his chest beat at an alarming rate as he moved forward in uncertainty.

Knock, Knock!

"Hello?"

A crisp knocking sound reverberated within, breaking the serenity of the place, followed by the deep voice of the adolescent asking...

Patiently waiting for a reply but only in vain.

"Did your skill detect living beings within?"

After waiting for another minute, Drake helplessly turned his head toward his back, staring toward the two before asking in doubt.

"No, I can't detect anything within this fog, as if it restrained skills that rely on senses..."

Hearing Drake's inquiry, Roy unhurriedly shook his head, frowning heavily as worry filled his head- feeling that Khael and Andress were in grave danger.

"I see, then let's see if there's something useful within," Drake said unhurriedly, without waiting for a reply, he pried the door open, revealing the sight within.

***

"Huff~ Andress wait! The other three still haven't caught up to us!"

Khael panted heavily, staring at the lifeless doll meters away before glancing toward the dark yet pale expression of Andress in front of him...

His eyes were visibly constricted under the veil of darkness, trembling slightly as unprecedented horror was present within... Staring toward the porcelain doll above the niches in doubt and fear.

"There's still no one here, there's no human nor beast hiding in here...

"Don't tell me, the sound originated within the tomb itself!"

He thought, unable to extricate the possibilities within him, planting seeds of fear within his consciousness as he pondered whether to take a look beyond/beneath the tomb.

Unable to get rid of that thought, Andress quickly clenched his fist, swinging his fist downward with enough force without hesitation, destroying the concrete tomb in the process.

Boom!

A loud sound of explosion resounded toward the far distance as countless pieces of rubble from destroyed concrete flew toward the faces of the two- making them instinctively flinch yet they didn't close their eyes in the process...

Staring at the dust without blinking, wanting to see what was beyond... Wanting to catch the thing that caused their unrest and fear.

Cough, cough...

In an instant, upon seeing what was beyond the tomb, the two couldn't help but release an intense sound of coughing... Covering their nose as disgust was instantly reflected in their eyes.

Gazing downward, the two immediately see the open casket, exposing the decaying being within as its smell quickly wafted toward their senses... Within its wrinkled skin, they could faintly discern the slowly moving fat white maggots, munching happily as it created a low gnawing sound, making Andress who was good at hearing gulp audibly.

Unable to bear the sight, he quickly turns his head toward his back, feeling his stomach seethe as he begins throwing up- expelling everything within as its smell begins to mix with the disgusting smell of decaying flesh... Increasing the uncomfortable feeling he was experiencing.

Click... Click...

"This, again..."

Wiping the saliva within the corner of his mouth, Andress expression quickly changes into grim, hearing dozens of sounds of clicking within the surroundings as the faint innocent laugh, coming from an unknown abyss weakly entered his senses...

Making his heart skip a beat as an unprecedented sensation of horror gripped his being, making him shiver as regret flashed within his mind...
