Chapter 147 Harem Dilemma?
Kyle spent an hour with Calista, but it wasn't anything sexual. Calista was proving to be quite the reliable crutch, but unfortunately for her, she had already made a bad first impression.
That was who she truly was; whatever version she was showing Kyle right now was because he had demonstrated the ability to take care of her.
He had also shown that he wasn't scared to spend money, so which woman in her right mind wouldn't want to secure such a person?
Kyle rested his head on her lap as she ran her fingers through his hair.
But for some reason, Kyle's body wasn't at ease, unlike when he was with Jane.
He was on alert, as if perceiving danger, despite knowing that Calista was no threat to him.
Maybe he needed a distraction?

"Say, how is the movie going? Are you killing your role as Rachel?" Kyle asked.
"Well, I hope I'm doing well. Lucas is a pain in the ass, but something tells me he'll be on his best behavior now," Calista chuckled.
"A pain?" Kyle asked, and Calista realized she hadn't kept him up to date since they rarely had time for themselves.
She told him everything, including the scenes Lucas tried to add, and for some reason, this rubbed Kyle the wrong way.
It was clear he was taking advantage of his position, and if he could do this to Calista, there was a high chance he'd do it to other talents.
This was something Kyle couldn't have, because not everyone would be as brave as Calista.
Of course, Kyle couldn't let her know what was going through his mind.
"That sounds like a terrible person. It's like he's trying to act out his fantasy through the movie. I'm glad you stood up for yourself," Kyle pointed out.
He knew that Calista had no problem being tough; he'd been on the receiving end after all.
"So she wants to become a serious actress…" Kyle thought to himself, almost laughing at the ridiculous notion.
"He is, but that's how people are. They'll always abuse the little power they have," Calista dismissed.
That was exactly what she had done to Kyle, but was it because she was used to being stepped on, and this was the only way she could retain some sort of power?
Not that it mattered to Kyle; he knew that Calista might have done that as a defense mechanism, but there was no doubt she had ruined lives doing this same thing.
Not everyone had a system to bail them out, so what if she was responsible for the consequences of what followed afterward?
"You know what I think we should do after you finish with the movie?" Kyle asked.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"What?" Calista questioned, eager to hear what he had in store for them.
"I was thinking we should go on a little trip—somewhere far away from here," Kyle suggested.
He had never been anywhere, and now he had the means to visit other countries.
Why not take the opportunity to remind Calista of the standard of life he could provide? But that was one of two reasons he was taking her there.
The main reason was that he planned to break the news to her that she was one of multiple women he was seeing.
If she took this news poorly, there was nothing she could do about it, as she had no way of leaving the country; ghosting wasn't an option.
Kyle also wanted to see how much it would affect her feelings, as the holiday should make up for the disappointment.
He expected it to decrease, but not by much. Kyle watched as her face lit up at the news.
"Now you're getting my hopes up!" Calista blurted out.
"I'm serious. I believe in sharing your beauty with the world, and that can only be done if I take you around the world," Kyle complimented her, showing his superior wit once again.
"Staawp~" Calista couldn't contain her smile, thinking back to when she was worried a few hours ago when there was clearly nothing to be scared of.
She just needed reassurance and didn't know how to ask without coming off as clingy, so this trapped her in her head.
She wouldn't have cared if it were any other man from her past, but Kyle had raised the standard.
Unlike the men from her past who knew they were lucky to have her, Kyle made it feel like he was the lucky one—and that was the case.
This was a man she could let lead her because he presented himself as such, and now he was about to take her on a holiday overseas.
What more could she possibly ask for at this moment when she was already getting everything she wanted?
Either way, Calista was oblivious to what Kyle had in store for her.
Meanwhile, Jane was enjoying herself in his apartment. She finished cleaning and went to take a shower.
She hadn't brought her own soap since she hadn't planned on spending the night. It was impromptu, so she used the bar of soap hanging in the shower, which belonged to Kyle.
"So old-school…" she murmured to herself, as most people usually used body wash or shampoo.
She found this cute—it felt like Kyle was an old man just entering society.
Jane recalled how he looked the first time they met. He was so damn adorable.
Thanks to the ongoing renovations of the building, the water didn't stop halfway through her shower.
Jane walked out of the bathroom but had no change of clothes.
However, from the corner of her eye, she saw a note on one of the bathroom cabinets, which she must have missed since she didn't clean the toilet (it was already clean).
[[My home is your home…]] was all it said, and Jane heaved a loud sigh of relief.
This gave her consent, and the first thing she did was wear his clothes.
It was something she had always dreamed of, and the comfort it provided brought a smile to her face.
"Should I take a picture and send it to him?" Jane wondered, but what if he didn't like it?
She instantly thought about asking Ella but recalled their last conversation, which only brought a smile to her face.
Jane was realizing how lucky she was to have two amazing people in her life, as most people didn't even have one.
She gave Ella a call, not minding how she would react because this was why they were best friends.
