Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 156: Chapter 95: The Stone Venerable Deity Statue

After hearing Hexia's account, a brief silence fell over the scene, but the Godly General cracked a smile again.

"It's fine for the young miss to make jokes, but saying such things seriously would only make one seem naive." Even Jielou City couldn't accomplish that, how could this solitary, orphaned girl do it? She looks to be at most 17 years old, what ability could she possibly have?

While having ambition is good, saying so at this age only makes one seem naive and laughable, many in the audience thought.

Seeing that everyone had a hard time believing her, Hexia wasn't in a hurry either, considering it a good choice to safely get through this half hour.

Unfortunately, the ruler of Jielou City didn't think so.

"Although you are Yongrong's daughter, today's actions have still overstepped the bounds," he said.

"Disband those Sword Guardians and then I will confine you for six months. Afterwards, take over your mother's duties properly." Although he had previously looked down on Hexia, the recent battle had made Gu Qianlou recognize the girl's extraordinary talent and he felt a fondness for her abilities.

She was so young and yet so powerful. If she were well-educated and nurtured, she could perhaps one day take over his position. Besides, she was his sister's daughter, so emotionally and bloodwise, they were not distant.

"I'm sorry, that's something I cannot do," Hexia shook her head and declined.

Gu Qianlou felt waves of irritation rise in him at Hexia's refusal to heed good advice, not only because she was defiant, but also because that expression reminded him of Gu Yongrong from twenty years ago.

The girl in the snow sleeve red dress was just the same back then, and later she even left Jielou City with a stranger. The lack of support and distrust toward his own decisions had caused the elder brother's heart to be unable to let go for a long time, and every time he thought of it, anger flared.

"It seems I must properly discipline you today," he said, his voice growing stern, and with a wave of his hand, those encircling black-faced Godly Generals stepped forward once again.

Like dark clouds over a city, thirty black-faced Godly Generals generated gusts and shrill sounds of weapons, slashing down in an instant. Hexia had no choice but to flip and dodge once more, and the situation grew increasingly perilous.

Although it wouldn't go as far as killing her, it was inevitable that she would get injured and subdued. If that happened, even if the flight from Edith Academy arrived, it would be difficult to use it to change the situation in Jielou City.

As Hexia repeatedly flipped and considered whether to secretly use her Talent Ability to momentarily flee, a silver, snow-like glow swept into the array of the black-faced Godly Generals, coming to her aid.

"Ah, ah, ah, it seems I've arrived late." Feng Jianxue, wielding a silver longsword from who knows where, stood in front of Hexia. A Cold Ice chill exuded from him, slowing the surrounding black-faced Godly Generals imperceptibly.

"And who are you!"

The black-clad Godly Generals surrounding the two of them struck again, and this time their moves were much more fierce. After all, the man opposite them wasn't Hexia, so what would it matter if they wounded or killed him?

The silver blade, along with the fluttering sleeves, spun like large snowflakes, as ice edges spilled and scattered, pushing back or freezing the approaching Godly Generals. This visitor from the Flying Feather Star Domain was no ordinary person.

Though he appeared somewhat comical and out of tune at first sight, it didn't hinder his transformation into a notable expert when he got serious.

In face of this dazzling and elegant swordsmanship, and the elusive and unpredictable footsteps and silhouette, Gu Qianlou slowly furrowed his brows. He didn't know the man's name, but he could guess that this was someone with a deep connection to the traditional direct transmissions of the Upper Gate from years past.

"Flying Snow Swordsmanship: Lone Journey on Cold River!"

After breaking away from the Godly Generals at his side, Feng Jianxue turned the blade in his hand and then, like lightning, shot through the blocked crowd straight towards Gu Qianlou standing in the back.

Capture the king to defeat the enemy. Instead of constantly battling with a group of 'Godly Generals,' it was better to take down this leader directly.

"Clang—" A crisp collision of sword and blade rang out.

The snow-white longsword collided with the pitch-black Ancient Sword, sparking flames and shavings. Then both parties took half a step back before advancing again, the Snow Blade and Black Sword continuously intersecting on the field, causing fierce clashing and striking noises.

After over ten seconds, the two disengaged once more. Feng Jianxue's moon-white robes now sported a blood-red wound, while Gu Qianlou's wrist was also trickling with fresh blood.

"Truly admirable, the current Seat Master of Jielou City," Feng Jianxue said, without sarcasm for once. After all, it was quite rare and difficult for a place as remote and deprived of resources as Jielou City to produce a Transcendent of Sequence 6 like Gu Qianlou.

"Hmph, are you afraid to reveal your identity? Still trying to divert the topic," Gu Qianlou flicked off the blood from his wrist and sword, while a servant beside him meticulously wiped clean the bloodstains with a white towel.

"As for my identity, it's better left unsaid for now," Feng Jianxue shook his head, seemingly indifferent to the scornful and contemptuous looks from the surrounding Godly Generals.

"I didn't want to cause conflict with everyone here, let's just take what we need. But it seems something unexpected happened today. How about I take Hexia away and you all stop pursuing us?"

"Absolutely not! How can we let His Highness go with you?" Before the 'Godly Generals' could even speak, the 'Sword Guardians' were already unwilling.

Twenty years ago, a mysterious young man from the outside abducted the treasured pearl of Jielou City. Would history repeat itself now? This was simply intolerable.

"Hey, come on, let's talk this through, no need to be so inflexible. Think carefully, now is the time to stop. If we continue, it may harm our relationships and harmony," he argued deviously while his gaze swept across the entire scene.

"No need to waste words with this person, attack!" the leading 'Godly General' shouted, and once again everyone rushed forward, forcing Feng Jianxue into battle.

"This is really..." Feng Jianxue shook his head while swinging his snow-white blade. The blade's light was continuous like a snowy afterimage, constantly sweeping away or dodging incoming attacks. Setting aside his earlier verbose image, his figure was still quite dashing and handsome.

Seeing that the Godly Generals could not subdue this foreign guest in a short time, Gu Qianlou raised his hand, signaling them to stand down for now.

"Oh, so you're going to take action personally?" Feng Jianxue looked at the other party with interest.

Gu Qianlou slowly shook his head, then stomped the ground with his sword scabbard, causing an invisible ripple to spread. The floor trembled continuously, and a deafening roar kept sounding.

As everyone struggled to maintain their balance, swaying from side to side, an incredibly strong arm suddenly burst through the ground and slammed into the earth, the wind from the palm strike shattering many stones and tiles.

Dodging the strike while pulling Hexia away, Feng Jianxue retreated with the girl until they were a hundred meters away before stopping.

A 30-meter-tall Godly General slowly emerged from the ground, clad in golden copper armor covered in rust and corrosion, with body painted in green and red. The sound of clicking gears could be heard from its joints. As it raised its head, the bronze eyeballs in its sockets turned slowly, emitting a golden light.

As it gradually climbed out and stood firm, another Godly General of the same immense size rose in front of the Ancestral Shrine.

These two colossal Godly Generals stood like pillars holding up the sky, overlooking the tiny people below. The roaring sounds of mechanical workings rose from within their giant bodies, and golden light shone from within the cracks in their armor, layers of dirt and rust falling away. At the same time, circular halos of golden light appeared behind the towering figures.

The presence of the golden halos behind them subdued the entire Forbidden City. The Aijieka Particles slowed in their movement and the condensation of Magic Power became increasingly difficult.

Soon, bands of gold and red Magic Power formed on the arms and behind these colossal Godly Generals, reminiscent of celestial ribbons adorning a general in ancient murals. These bands, made purely of Magic Power, showed complex and dense golden patterns upon careful observation, almost like Cursed Seals of enchantment, creating layers of protective barriers over the giants that shielded against attacks.

"Tsk."

Feng Jianxue swung his snow-colored longsword, and the moon-white arc of light that it created collided with a distant Godly General, bouncing off like a peanut shell against steel, utterly powerless.

"This one must have the fighting strength of Sequence 7, terrifying," Feng Jianxue shook his head, thinking that Jielou City's resources were indeed substantial to have such things hidden away.

"Shall we go, Hexia? Although these two big fellows are formidable, they probably aren't fast. If we just run quickly enough…" He turned back to look at the girl behind him but discovered that she had vanished.

With her blue hairband fluttering like Swallow Grass, Hexia lightly stepped on the roof ridge of a pavilion and leaped up, her form as light as a bird. As she reached the high skies, a blue crystalline longsword also appeared beside her.

In response, Gu Qianlou stomped with his sword, and then the two colossal Godly Generals wielding 32-meter long blades swung down, accelerating from slow to fast, sweeping through and shattering the descending ice crystal longswords.

Hexia, however, was unfazed by this, having anticipated such an outcome. As the gigantic Godly General swung its blade, she dove, instantly splitting into three streaks of light that coiled around the arm of the Godly General. Her sword left long gashes on the thick armor, and the blue crystal eroded the golden protective layer on the armor until both shattered into gray-white fragments and fell.

Although these two colossal Godly Generals possessed nearly the strength of Sequence 7, they were not truly at Sequence 7. They were rigid mechanical beings with many flaws and limitations.

Once Hexia got close, the Godly Generals, facing a foe as nimble as a swallow by their sides, kept slapping and slashing, but they could never catch her. Eventually, their armor was stripped layer by layer, and the heat emitted from their bodies grew increasingly hotter.

After all, the combat style of these units was too monotonous.

Feng Jianxue, watching from afar, couldn't help but admire Hexia's audacity. He hadn't failed to notice the giants' weaknesses, but he wouldn't risk his life to test them. In such intense close combat, the Godly Generals could afford hundreds of losses, but one hit, and he would never be able to escape.

"However, even with their weaknesses, to be able to battle at this age against them without falling behind..." Feng Jianxue shook his head.

"It's not just me who misjudged. Even Gu Qianlou probably underestimated the extent of her terrifying talent. Among the descendants of the great Upper Gates of those years, there probably hasn't been a more dazzling new star."
