Chapter 251 | 251 | The Battle for Servusarator: Minos Rebellion Part 7
Within the crown of the Citadel, Abraham watched as the land, where the massive rebel army stood, sunk into oblivion. Such was the power of PLUTON, a weapon of mass destruction. It was the combination of actual and magic technology, which proved to be a powerful concept in its own right. Even the R&D Department had already given a name for this line of technology.
It was called the Combined-Technology.
At any rate, how PLUTON worked was fairly simple. Through the assistance of various complicated runic syntax, an imaginary mass would be created from the manipulation of spatial coordinates. It was a complex system, far more complex than an ordinary nuclear bomb.
However, it provided the United World Government to sink anything they pointed it at. The newly-developed bomb even worked at all pressure. Not even the insurmountable depths of the ocean would be able to resist its destruction. After all, reality couldn't affect what wasn't real.
Though, the endeavor of developing PLUTON wasn't without its own troubles.
The manipulation of spatial coordinates had its own problems. One wrong move, the imaginary mass would keep expanding without limits. Even the runic syntax that was used as its foundation was discovered accidentally, and the way to developed it was of utmost confidentiality.
The reason why the newly-developed bomb exploded beneath the earth was to hide what it was. They could explode it in the air, but their enemies would notice something peculiar with this bomb of theirs. Especially the Magus Tower of Europa, an organization that they didn't dare to underestimate.
An organization of humanity that had studied magic for thousands of years. Although they didn't have the assistance of a computer algorithm, who knows what kind of abominable weapons they hide within their tombs.
But it wasn't without reason why the United World Government had decided to create PLUTON. It was mostly considered as a counter for the Sovereigns of Humanity. These individuals, who could be considered as the Humanity's Gods in this foreign world, wasn't to be understated.
Even someone as powerful as Laplace doesn't guarantee a victory in fighting against them, which was already problematic for Abraham. They had relied on the Dragon of Liberation as their guardian, which protected them from the wrath of the Magus Tower and the Inquisition.
He also didn't want to pressure his wife into becoming more of a guardian. She was his lover, and being used as nothing more but a weapon against the Magus Tower didn't give him a tinge of a good feeling.
"Anyhow, with the PLUTON's first success. The R&D Department has a proof of concept, which should make it easy for them to make it better and stronger." Abraham muttered to himself, intending to make the destructive capability of the newly-developed bomb bigger.
The ability to sink a dozen kilometer in diameter of land wasn't a weak feat. It had already gained the power of nuclear bombs, and perhaps stronger as it would ensure that nothing would be left behind while the air wouldn't be irradiated by radiation. There was practically no chance for nuclear winter to emerge with PLUTON.
Though, perhaps there wouldn't be anything left to stand upon with it.
This wasn't also the end of Combined-Technology. Whether it'd be OURANOS, HERMES, or the other projects of the R&D Department. The United World Government will be built upon the technology of the modern world and the foreign world.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
And with these technologies, the United World Government will stand at the very top of existence. But that was for the future him to handle. For now, the Ferus Sea remained as his ambition. After all, it was a vast ocean left for him to conquer.
"It's difficult not to get excited." Abraham's lips curled up into a smile as he closed the monitor screen before him and turned his attention to the table. On the table was a lone file, inside was the biggest project, which he had been interested in for quite some time.
Inside the file was the refinement of the United Military, advancing the arsenal of the United World Government into greater heights. The first of such inventions within the project was the M.E.C.H, an intriguing technology that would prove useful for the United Army.
The idea of MECH originated from the arcane cannons of the Magus Tower, which had first appeared in the Final Battle of Terra. The arcane cannons were destructive, though they lack creativity and the tinge of practicality.
Within MECH were the legged vehicles ranging from bipedal, tripodal, or quadpod. These would make it easier for them to traverse extreme ragged terrains, which wouldn't be uncommon if they desired to gain dominion over the Ferus Sea. Naturally, MECH had its own issues.
First was the availability of materials that were capable of handling the immense weight of the vehicle. Second was the viability of technology to be able to even move a singe leg of the mech. Third was the maximum speed and its ability to be transported through logistical chain.
From these problems, it wouldn't make sense to even construct MECHs when they could merely utilized tanks to their advantage. There was no used in trying to delve into unproven and unreliable technology. But this was if they had been stuck in the former world.
In the foreign world, there was magicraft and the technology that presided with it. The impossibility of former projects was practically made possible with magic.
Through the newly-discovered minerals, they had gained the required material to handle the immense weight of the vehicle in a large period of time. With the runic technology that had been further refined every second, the viability of technology was already reassured. And finally, using the project, its maximum speed and its ability to adapt to the logistical chain wouldn't be an issue.
It was the best way to move forward, advancing the already complex modern technology into higher heights. After all, there was no way they could rely on their modern technology forever. It wouldn't take long for others to catch-up, once they realized what was possible with mere science.
They might even combined their knowledge with project, which would further accelerate their growth.
So, Abraham wasn't hesitant in delving with the Combined-Technology first as it would ensure the technological superiority of the United World Government. And as long as they could maintain their superior over technology, any adversaries wouldn't be a problem.
"And there is also the second classification of inventions within the project, these inventions were known as JUPITER."
...
Meanwhile, between the vast plains of the western and central region, one of the reconnaissance squads sent out by the rebellion army returned, left with a horrifying scene. A never-ending massive pit that seemed to lead to the gates of hell itself dwelled before them. It was as though a vast land had been carved out by the gods themselves.
"W-What... How is this possible!?" The Minokin sergeant tensely questioned, unable to believe the damning sight in front of him. The United World Government shouldn't have such power, so his mind quickly correlated the destruction to the Dragon of Liberation. After all, only she had the power to enact such monstrous power.
"We have to go back, squad leader! The generals need to hear of this. Over forty thousand lives, lost just like that... We must warn them!" One of the Minokin scouts suggested to the squad leader, who remained unmoving from the horrible scenery of devastation.
The Minokin sergeant gritted his teeth and understood that they must report the tragedy back to the Capital City of Minos. With the Dragon of Liberation acting, the State of Minos stood no chance in resisting the onslaught of the ruthless dragon.
"But are we really sure that it is the Dragon of Liberation that had done such thing? There are no scorch marks, and such destruction wouldn't go unnoticed. Usually, a bright light rivalling the sun would emerge if it was the dragon that had carved out this land. However, there was nothing."
"Only an earthquake of unprecedented magnitude. It might even be fair to say that this isn't that much different from a disaster. A massive one at that." One of the scouts uttered, this one, had an eyeglasses over his face. Although, these eyeglasses were a lot more bigger than the human ones.
The sergeant glanced at him with raised eyebrows, understanding his doubts. But it wasn't their job or duty to investigate tragedies. Being alive was already fortunate for them. At the very least, their bodies were consumed by the endless depths that stood before them.
"It doesn't matter who's the reason for this disaster. We must report the circumstance of the army. I feel that our defeat isn't that far into the future." The sergeant remarked, keeping himself from the exhaustion of theorizing who was who. It does not give them anything, other than tiring their minds out for nothing.
The scouts, hearing the words of their scout leader, didn't speak much. After all, the composition of the rebel army was complicated. Their so-called liberation wasn't without a price as most of their population while a quarter of their military turned against them. There was practically no future for them.
But nevertheless, they still fight, as such was the circumstance brought upon them. For the War Tribe of Minos, and for what they believed in.
On the other hand, in the Capital City of Minos, the remaining of the rebel army was fortifying the capital city, creating intricate tunnels underground. The city walls had been heavy fortified, along with trenches inside and outside of the city, further intensifying the defensive structure of the rebel army.
The Minos Rebels within the capital city weren't willing to surrender. Their last surrender brought them into the clutches of the Colonial Dominion, which their ancestors before them had regretted until their deaths. They were willing to fight until the last body.
...
It seems that the rebellion was nearing its conclusion.
