Chapter 356- Internal Energy
356 Chapter 356- Internal Energy
The man seemed genuinely confused.
He had clearly heard his master state that he had no desire to involve himself in harming Lady Amayara; yet, here he was, sending vampires for her.
To be more specific, when he mentioned sending vampires as sacrifices, it suggested he intended for them to transform someone into a vampire.
This process, known as vampirification, was complex: the vampire that created a new one would weaken significantly, allowing the newly formed vampire—who would be driven by insatiable bloodlust—to kill their progenitor.
Due to a strict drawback applicable for a year, the death of the parent vampire would also lead to the demise of the fledgling.
This method had been historically used to eliminate adversaries stronger than vampires by instigating a cycle of mutual destruction among themselves.
"You think too much, Jambiun. I simply sent them to retrieve that cat girl; wouldn't it be advantageous to have her as a shield?"
Keith, aware of his assistant's thoughts, clarified, though his intentions did mirror those concerns.
His true aim was to employ the girl as a protective barrier.
To be more blunt, wouldn't it give him reassurance of another kind if he linked his own life with that girl? And in case things go wrong, he would be able to use her as a lifeline.
Though, of course, it depended on Ryuk Devereaux, who might kill him even after knowing that killing him would also kill that cat girl.
"I apologize, but I still fail to grasp your reasoning, my lord," Jambiun bowed again, unable to fully comprehend Keith's plan.
"It's straightforward. Take this and make her swallow it when I confront Ryuk Devereaux."
Keith produced a box from his dimensional space and handed it to Jambiun, who visibly recoiled as his eyes fell on the container.
A dense, crimson energy seeped from it, causing him to tremble.
"Urgh!"
'!?!'
"M-Master, please tell me this isn't what I think it is!"
Jambiun's eyes widened in alarm.
From the overwhelming aura of blood energy emanating from the box, he understood it contained an essence crystal—a vital component within a vampire that granted them the capacity to wield blood art.
These crystals were unique to each vampire, with only one existing per individual.
To put it bluntly, it was akin to a vampire's heart, and without it, they would lose all their powers.
"There's no need to overreact, Jambiun. As you already know, I possess two crystals within me," Keith replied, maintaining his composure.
He clarified that he, unlike any other vampire, had two cores inside him, a fact known to many elders, which explained his reputation as a genius and one of the most sought-after talents within the Blood Moon Clan.
To put it more clearly, a vampire gives his essence to the other individual. But there they just see the pure blood pass through the outer layer of the essence crystal, not transfer it whole as to them. Given it is their energy source, due to transferring the essence, which is not the essence crystal, but the strength of it, they become momentarily weak until they recover their strength back.
He thought himself wanted to make that girl a vampire, but the problem was how much she stinks with that unbearable pheromone smell that he can't bring himself to bite her.
So, his plan was simply to put one essence stone in her body and make her a lifeguard in case he missed something.
After all, he wasn't the type to underestimate his enemies.
"B-but, this..." Jambiun wanted to inquire why they were going this far, but he understood and respected his decision, realizing that it appeared he was just being overconfident in his abilities. It seemed that his master was much more aware of the strength of the enemies they were about to face. "I understand."

Far away in the direction where these ships were heading stood the Jade Dominion at its center, and thousands of miles within could be seen individuals standing near the cliff looking in that direction.
[Host, energy signatures of Diana Riantain are detected to be heading in this direction.]
'How is the stability of the Dantian going?' Ryuk inquired of the system about the formation of the new energy vessel in his body after the dual cultivation, considering how initially, by training in the upper town, the internal energy he was gathering was scattered around his body and did not reside in a separate place like the Dantian due to him only being in the foundational establishment.
Unlike presently, now that he has reached the core formation realm.
After dual cultivation last night, his body had finally started to accumulate the internal energy in different portions of the vessel—revealing that a core was forming.
So presently, he had an Ether Vessel storing the Ether produced by the Ether circles in his heart region and a Dantian at the base of his spine carrying internal energy.
[Host, the newly formed energy vessel seems stable and is ready to be used.]
'So, I am in the Core Formation realm, is that correct?' Ryuk reconfirmed with the system, as the nomenclature of this place seems similar to one another.
[Indeed, that's correct.]
'Is there no way to boost her overall speed?' Ryuk inquired about Yao Lian, who, through dual cultivation, was used as a medium to balance the internal energy that the system synthesized by converting his Ether.
Then the internal energy he received from her gave him a boost that did not harm his foundation.
For a clearer understanding, the accumulation of internal energy within a body significantly enhances their levels.
This elevation enables them to make breakthroughs at each tier referred to as realms in the Jade Dominion power hierarchy.
Reaching a certain amount of internal energy boosts an individual's strength.
This was the particular reason why elixirs or pills were fed to individuals inside this place: to boost their overall internal energy.
However, doing so weakens the very foundation of the individual.
This was the same for the system, which can convert the ether in his body into internal energy, boosting his overall strength.
However, similar to artificially induced internal energy from elixirs or pills, this also weakens the foundation, making him much weaker than if he had chosen a natural method.
Naturally, one needs to first stabilize the internal energy they obtain from consuming elixirs or pills to prevent it from damaging their foundation.
But of course, Ryuk, having not much time, could not do that, as it takes too much focus and time.
This is why he opted for dual cultivation. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
So, technically, Yao Lian was the one who was stabilizing the internal energy after he poured the raw energy into hers, taking her stable energy into him and creating a balance where it was simply like eating cooked food while giving her raw food to cook.
However, there was a main problem here: the speed at which she could cook.
Her cultivation speed was slow—of course, much faster than others—but it still didn't match the pace he wanted.
If it were simply about breaking his levels and reaching higher realms, it would be possible by converting ether into internal energy and pouring it into his Dantian.
He could easily break through the levels one after another, but again, it would result in a very weak foundation without him being able to stabilize it.
It would go rampant in his body, and even if he tried to transfer it to Esme through dual cultivation afterward, it would just damage her own body.
