After checking all of the antiques from the Reverie Period, Mira joined the owner at the end of the line once again, who was looking at her with curiosity.

「You seem to be looking for something specific. Would you mind telling me what it is? I may be able to point you in the right direction.」

Once his mind came back from the world of art, the owner noticed Mira’s actions, so he asked her that, showing he was ready to help her find what she wanted. That offer felt like a godsend for Mira, so she quickly explained her situation.

「Ohh, alright, I’ll ask you then. Do you have any furniture that’s both old and used enough that there’s a chance a spirit was born in it?」

According to the Spirit King, the requirements for a spirit to be born in an item were time, constant use, and positive emotions from people. Mira tried her best to sum up those requirements, and the owner seemed interested by how specific that was, becoming even more curious.

「I think I’ve heard about that before. Sometimes furniture can start housing spirits too, not too dissimilar to how it happens with weapons. I’ve never encountered that myself, but it’s a common rumor amongst antique collectors. And you, the Spirit Queen, are looking for furniture like that… So am I right to assume it has something to do with your name?」

After a moment of thought, he asked her the first thing that came to mind, while his eyes were filled with expectation like a child.

「Hmm…well, it’s something like that.」

Mira had to think about the connection between her search and her name as the Spirit Queen, but she realized that she did not even know why people had started calling her that. She just assumed it had something to do with the Spirit King.

Her search for furniture was purely to improve her spirit mansion, and the ability to link the power of spirits for that was only possible through the Spirit King’s power. So in a roundabout way, she figured it was safe to reply positively.

「Ohh, what a marvelous goal! And I’ve been given a chance to aid the Spirit Queen at accomplishing such an important duty!」

The owner showed even more excitement hearing that, quickly expressing it by loudly shouting, 「I’ll be part of the Spirit Queen’s story!」 and 「I’m finally going to be of help to the Spirit Queen!」 and so on, all prompted by a simple question from Mira.

「…So, is there anything like that?」

Just when the owner seemed like he was about to start praising the Gods for granting him that blessing, Mira was unable to wait any longer and pressed him for an answer, making him snap out of it and say, 「Ah! Yes, I apologize for that, but I’m sure there’s something!」

「I’ve heard it takes at least a century for a spirit to be born within items, so I’m sure everything on this floor meets that requirement. That means I just have to pin down items that were used with care.」

He quickly regained his composure and surveyed the area with a sharp gaze, and after some time, he focused his gaze on a certain area.

「This furniture comes from around three centuries ago, from a remote island to the southwest of the Ark Continent, inhabited by the Jolly Promontories, so I’m sure it meets the requirements!」

Saying that, he pointed to an area two sections ahead, lined with furniture that looked old and worn.

「Ohh, they look rather rustic and practical, but I guess that also means they were used a lot.」n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

These antiques looked the opposite from the Katenov Era ones, mostly being built in plain shapes. Their rough appearance made it clear they had been used constantly, meeting Mira’s second condition. ŕά

The owner then explained who the Jolly Promontories were, their name coming from their desire to stand tall and at ease like a large rock regardless of what calamity came over them.

The remote island they inhabited was assaulted by terrible storms multiple times a year, and they would also suffer monster attacks often, so their houses and furniture was built sturdy to endure through everything, lasting many generations across centuries.

「Their construction is simple, but they have a deep color and the metal pieces have developed a nice patina to avoid rusting. They lived isolated from the main continent, so it’s impressive to see what they achieved with their limited resources and knowledge, but as you can see, their best still lives on to this day.」

The owner went to personally introduce the items.

The furniture was mainly made of large wooden pieces, held together by metal fittings of a peculiar shape. They were not flashy in any way, but they had a cohesive style. Knowing the history behind them also explained their appearance, and it also made sense that they had been used for generations. All of that history behind them gave them an allure similar to art pieces, even if they never were meant to be.

「Let me see, I’ll check them right away.」

The owner looked like he wanted to continue talking about their history, so Mira stopped him before he started and went to look at the furniture.

The Jolly Promontories’ furniture covered everything from large wardrobes to small chairs, all of which were burly and hefty, with marks showing all the difficult times they had been through. In a way, it was like the scars of a warrior.

「These should meet all the requirements, but I can’t see any…」

After she had looked at each of the items available, she turned around and muttered in defeat. Everything there had been used in a household for a long time, meeting the requirements. And yet she was unable to find a single spirit.

『It might be an issue with the environment.』

Shortly after, the Spirit King’s voice echoed in her head again, who added that a peaceful and happy household provided a better environment for a spirit to be born. Spirits in weapons were born from a desire to fight and experience more exhilarating battlefields, which was something easily provided by human nature. But those born in furniture and household items were a bit different.

『Hmm…so a safer and more stable household is a better place for spirits…』

Considering the history of the Jolly Promontories and the reasons behind the construction of their furniture, it was easy to see how their households were far from peaceful.

「Owner, would you happen to have furniture that was used in more peaceful and loving households?」

Armed with more knowledge, she once again asked the owner for guidance.

「Peaceful and loving, hmm… Wait a moment.」
