Chapter 85 84 - Loot Box Accumulated
After spending the whole day away from home and training with the staff, Luca sat at the table with his family and ate pizza, which brought back some memories of simpler times, when he was just a child, with no worries about what the future held. Today, the feeling was almost the same — especially being in the presence of those he loved.
After dinner, the family began to settle down for the night. John had to go back to work, Ayumi to the flower shop, and Hana also had school the next day.
Lucas went into his room, closing the door behind him, and let himself fall on the bed for a few minutes to answer messages from a few people. Getting up, he picked up his toothbrush and walked to the bathroom.
As he brushed his teeth, he remembered again the rewards he hadn't opened yet. He finished brushing his teeth and, wiping his lips with a towel, returned to the bedroom and sat down on the bed before holding out his hand.
"Inventory." he muttered.
Before his eyes, a translucent window appeared, floating in midair. The interface resembled that of an RPG, with organized slots where items floated, like in a display case. He could see two small purple chests, marked "Epic Loot Box", and a third, shiny one labeled "Legendary Loot Box". Beyond them, in the corner of the inventory, were two mysterious cards, shrouded in a fine purple mist.
Lucas knew that Loot Boxes, especially those of legendary rarity, had the potential to offer skills that could redefine your chances in future battles, but they also came with items. Meanwhile, cards were guaranteed skills, but not always about soccer.
"Where to start..." muttered Lucas with a hand on his chin. "Right, right, let's see what we've got here," he muttered, stretching out his hand towards the first mysterious card.
As he touched the card, the figure of a solid card appeared floating in front of him, and after it exploded in color, it revealed the title of the new ability:
"Advanced Concentration." Lucas read it and raised his eyebrows.
The description said that the skill amplified the user's focus in moments of pressure, allowing them to block out distractions and concentrate completely on any task. For someone who played soccer and constantly needed to stay calm in critical situations, this skill was gold.
"This could really help me on the pitch." he whispered to himself, thinking of when he had to take a penalty or was very stressed.
Compliantly, he reached out for the second card, repeating the process. The card appeared, revealing a new ability called:
"Extended Physical Resistance."
Lucas's heart raced, and a broad smile appeared. He was in luck. This skill would temporarily increase his endurance capacity and reduce the negative effects of fatigue. He could see the benefits immediately: less tiredness in training, more energy to last a full match and, perhaps, even an extra breath for the most critical moments of the game.
He let out a low laugh. That wasn't exactly the kind of skill that would change the course of a game, but he knew that it was these details that could make a crucial difference on the pitch. With the two cards now floating in front of him, Lucas laughed low, like a satisfied villain.
"These two will give me a real advantage."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
He moved the cards slightly apart with a gesture, watching them dissolve into tiny fragments of light and disappear into thin air, returning to his inventory.
"Now for the loot boxes. Let's start with the epic ones."
When he clicked on the Loot Boxes in the inventory, they materialized in front of him. Then Lucas touched the center of one of them. It shook, glowed and opened, revealing three items.
[Item: Protection Bracelet.
Effect: Gives the wearer extra protection in impact situations. Perfect for moments when you have to put your body on the line, whether in a game or in combat.]
Lucas turned his attention to the next item, which gradually began to reveal itself before his eyes. This time, a sphere of bluish glass appeared, spinning on its own axis. Inside it, a silver flame crackled, as intense as it was silent, filling the room with a faint luminescence.
"Revitalization Flame?" Lucas tilted his head, curious. He touched the sphere cautiously, and the description appeared.
[Item: Revitalization Flame.
Description: An item that allows you to restore completely the energy and life of a person who is not seriously injured.]
Putting the flame away in his inventory, Lucas shifted his gaze to the third item: a long, smooth black quill that glowed supernaturally, almost as if it had been dipped in an inkwell of stars. He frowned, confused.
[Item: Symbol of the Black Wing
Description: A rare talisman that can be activated once to allow the wearer to experience stopping time for ten seconds.]
Lucas felt a shiver run up his spine. "Stop time? Seriously, how powerful is that system?"
Three items, all useful in one way or another. Waiting a while to see these rewards was beginning to be very worthwhile. Taking advantage of the lucky streak, Lucas touched the second chest.
"I really hope you don't let me down," said Lucas, half-jokingly, half-seriously.
[Item: Hunter's dagger
Description: A dagger with an ornate handle, whose gleaming blade is perfect for close combat, although it has no special magical properties.]
[Item: Shadow Cloak
Description: A long, dark cloak that seems to absorb the surrounding light. It can be used to camouflage oneself in dark environments, but offers no physical protection.]
[Item: Temporary Invisibility Potion
Description: A vial containing a golden liquid that allows the user to become invisible for a short time, ideal for escaping from dangerous situations.]
He took a quick look at the items, trying to imagine how they could be useful to him. The dagger, although beautiful, didn't seem to have any special power. And he wasn't even in a medieval world to use it. The same couldn't be said for the cloak, which, despite its imposing appearance, didn't seem to have any magical properties.
"Cloak? Dagger? I think my luck's run out," he complained, letting out a nervous laugh. "However, it's a good thing that things that aren't so useful to me have come along now. It means my chances have increased with the Legendary Loot Box."
