Chapter 831: Chapter 829-Two Choices.



"Good job"

The words I said to Mark came with a little nod from me as I looked around. Even though all of them were smiling and going with the flow, a million questions whirled in their minds, the main ones being about how the hell I had caused such a crowd to follow me by sheer instinct.

The question of how it all came to be dominated their minds, all of them wanting to find some kind of answer but holding back their curiosity for my sake. Even Alex is keeping his mouth shut about it. As smart as he is, he understands the fact that there are some things that even he shouldn't openly talk about. Seeing how all of them were caring for me, I smiled as I leaned into the chair.

My fingers went up as I pointed two of them into the air, the confused gazes focusing on me as I spoke.

"I will say one of two things: either about how I led all of them here or the fact about which kind of beast caused this mayhem and what it means for the world. So, which would you all choose?"

A subtle smirk at the end of my words as I watched the ripples my words caused. Many of them were quite curious about it as their eyes turned a bit resolute, while the others started to talk about it. The last of the additions about the divine beast hinted at the fact that there was more to the story than what was being told.

Small whispers sounded out as everyone understood the fact that this was a group discussion and that the total remaining value would be on what was chosen to get the answer for. Of course, I was just playing with the two of them. I don't mind talking about both reasons, and I would, too, but I like to see them squirm a bit.

'The teasing and a bit of sadistic desire in me has definitely grown.'

I mused, understanding and accepting the changes that had happened to me, each one small and more detailed than the last. I can tell the fact that I have grown more carefree. I have come to learn the fact that I am getting more playful and open about things, taking a more relaxed approach to life.

It would seem components of my life that I didn't know I had are slowly blooming. The previous default settings I had were worry, serious actions, and taking and moving with things seriously—all those default things I learned from different experiences. They had formed my character, which came from my learning and watching.

But now, with me being whole in a sense, true sides of mine that didn't exist have slowly started to bloom, showing a true human being that is forming.

"I don't really care what it is, but still, I am more curious about that power that pressed me down."

Jacob spoke with a light tone as Alex jumped in.

"C'mon, big guy, is spending all that time with the girl getting to you? We need answers to more secrets! More answers!"

His words made Jacob blush a bit, the girl having been rescued from the clutches of Angelian, who let her go in a respectful manner and quickly cleaned everything up in a neat manner. Of course, Jacob is still pissed, but he will come around soon. The good thing is the fact that the two of them became a couple.

This big lump of muscles that was betrayed by his own family is now going to form his own. I did my research on the girl, making sure she was legit and not sent by any other enemies. I also made sure she truly loved and cherished Jacob. If that wasn't the case, she would have definitely died in one or the other "accident" somewhere.

Cruel, I know, and it would break Jacob's heart, but this man is a pure and kind-hearted soul in a sense, willing to trust and live with others even after what he went through. That's why I have to be careful about the ones he goes together with. They say the biggest hit you will receive for failure will be from the inside.

A lot of powerful people have fallen to it. It's not that Jacob would betray me, but I don't want things to develop in a way where a situation Jacob would be used and put under wouldn't be formed. I make sure of that, too. Thus, I am truly happy for Jacob getting someone like this in his life.

And it shows, too, this gentle giant now being teased here and there all the time, everyone seeing the fact that he is happier and glowing more than before.

"Cough...that's not the case at all. It's just my opinion..."

Jacob said with a light blush on his face as he turned his head aside.

"I don't care about any secrets my liege holds. I am just a sword for him to use..."

Amon spoke with conviction, feeling as if this whole talk itself was blasphemy.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Argh! Just what did you do to make this guy as unbendable as a log?! Gosh...his loyalty is something else."

Alex trembled as he said this, looking at Amon with a disgusted face as he turned towards Mark. Though the moment Alex looked at Mark, he paused, the two of them gazing at each other, after which Alex turned his eyes away.

"Sigh...even making eye contact is different."

Alex muttered, Mark, being one who didn't speak and had no interest in this whole topic. The only thing he cared about was his sister and then me. The rest of the things happening around the world are like floating clouds in the sky; they have no relation to him at all.

Then Alex's eyes turned towards Emma, who quickly replied.

"I want to know what divine beast it was!"

Her words were already expected by Alex as he turned towards Mika and Rika, to which Mika spoke with a gentle tone.

"We want to know which divine beast."

Mika then gave me a light wink after it. The two of them didn't even care about the whole fact, as they knew that if they wanted to know, they could ask me. But it's more interesting to see how the wolf instincts influenced them-not of direct connection, but even they would feel the fact of worship in their hearts, their wolf instincts screaming at a divine that stands before them and even commands them.

"Ah..."

With that sigh, Alex turned towards Nihil, who spoke.

"I want to know the divine beast."

This dude, already having caught a hint from my words, was more interested in the type of divine beast that had been formed. Alex then looked at Clara, who spoke.

"I want to know more about the trick."

A little bit of revenge played in her eyes as she spoke of this, but also the impatience of getting everything done quickly and being impaled deep into her womb by me.

"Good."

With that, Alex looked at Zora, who didn't hesitate to vote for knowing more about the trick.

"I want the trick."

With that, Alex looked towards Tron, the silent, more brooding one of the lot. All of them had gotten a bit closer to each other in this timeline, as Tron replied.

"The trick."

His words didn't give much hope to Alex as the tally came to be.

"So that makes it 5 for knowing the divine beast, 4 for knowing the trick, and two abstaining even from answering. Guess we have a winner."

I spoke, leaning into the table from the chair, a dark look coming over Alex at those words as I smiled, taking in the attention of the lot, especially the shining eyes of Emma, as I spoke.

"The divine beast is a new one of the old, the one that came searching here is the one called the God Eater. A beast said to have grown from nothing to devouring the Gods. Said to be the strongest among the divine beasts and the most feared...Fenrir."

My words dropped a collective bombshell as everyone turned silent. Jacob's face froze. Alex cleaned his ears in doubt. The hairs and tails and even the ears of Mika and Rika stood up in chill. The eyes of Emma now widened with the greatest fascination I have ever seen in them. Nihil's eyes widened for a moment, after which it turned into one of impassiveness. Zora's eyes sparkled with intellectual intrigue, but even she had the same looks of fear pass through her face. The same was true for Clara, whose worry came over her-not for herself, but for me and the thought of what would have happened in the worst-case scenario. Amon had his eyes widened in awe and fear. Tron wasn't surprised as he knew the information, while Mark just remained cold-faced. But the rise in his eyebrow shows the fact that even he was surprised at the news.
