Chapter 142 [The Spirit Queen!]
My steps halted as I heard her words. With a slightly ridiculed look on my face, I waited for her to repeat what she just said. Though, since she turned silent, I decided to ask again,
"Can you repeat what you just said?"
"I am Ebony, an ice wind spirit. And I come here bearing an invitation that our Queen, the Fairy Spirit Queen, wants to have an audience with you," she repeated what she just said. And confirming her words made me a bit more confused.
I just arrived in this world. Normally, no one should even have an inkling to who I am or what I am doing here. Then what could be the meaning behind this invitation?
"What happened, Crow?" Favius asked with a concerned expression.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Odd. The Queen of the Spirits has asked for an audience with us," I answered.
"The Queen?!"
"Wow!"
"Should we be concerned?"
The last one was Quintellia who saw my worried expression. The others were just happy that we could meet the queen of the spirits that they all thought to be a mere fairytale. Or perhaps a legendary folklore.
"Not really. It's just that I don't think I have done anything for the queen to invite me, so I was thinking of the possible reasons why," I spoke my mind, making them ponder about it for a few seconds. Re then added,
"Perhaps it's that, you know? The fact that you are loved by the spirits? It could be related to that."
"Maybe," I mumbled before looking at that spirit as I spoke," take us to the Queen."
Ebony smiled before nodding hurriedly. And then flying in the front direction, she began speaking,
"Hurry! Hurry! We don't have much time!"
"Hurry!"
"Bad days are coming."
"The forest will die!"
"The prophecy is turning true!"
The spirits followed after her words, as they began speaking as well. Since they were lesser spirits, their figure of speech wasn't as fluent as Ebony, but still I could pick out the fact that they were all extremely worried about what was going on their planet.
Our group began following the spirits path for the next half an hour or so. They took us through various turns and corners of the forest, until we reached a particular area where two trees were bent to form a huge gate of sorts.
The gate was at least 10 meters tall and 7-8 meters wide. Even though it looked rather ordinary from afar, when we reached closer to it and Ebony used her spell on the tree gate, it opened up a portal to another world, or perhaps a dimension.
Though because of my map activation, because of which everything was mapped in that world as well, I could see that the portal took us to the other edge of this world, in a certain corner protected by lava all around.
Within that area was a rich forest where the spirits lived along with a few other races that usually hide from the normal masses.
"Please enter," Ebony spoke and I nodded before signaling my party to enter that area. One step at a time, we moved towards the place that had the most dense spirit energy.
And at the core of it, as we reached closer, we found a near dead girl lying on an empty bed in a garden. The signs of life were visible but that was all there was to that girl. And looking through her status, yup, that was the fairy queen.
Not what I expected, but still, I guess it should have been obvious given the state of the planet. After all, the life of spirits is often connected with the life of the planet and its greenery.
"Wandered," the spirit queen spoke. Not through her mouth but through a spirit speech," help us. Save this planet."
Perhaps her words also reached the other players present here, they all looked rather shocked to hear her words.
They looked at each other before looking at the spirit queen. And Quintellia, moved a step forward as she asked,
"What do you mean save the planet?"
"Not you. Him… please… as someone not… connected with the fate… of this world… please… save us…" she spoke, or to be precise she was begging me now.
She reminded me of the Two Gods from the twin world. Though, that being said, the amount of information I have about this planet was rather limited, how was I going to even save this planet?
"That's… a bit too much to ask from a blind man, isn't it?" I spoke as I looked at her before I used a bit of my energy to restore hers.
But then again… it was like a drop in the ocean so it didn't do much.
[Would you like to restore 10% of the Spirit Queen's Energy for 900 Billion GM points?]
'That ain't gonna cut it either, huh?' I pondered as I didn't have any better ideas to restore her vitality.
"This world will soon be consumed in rage, hatred and revenge of the fallen. The war that should have ended ages ago has spread beyond time, and now it won't end until it will consume everything," the Queen continued.
Oh! She can speak fluently now. At least my energy wasn't wasted.
"You must stop those Angels and Demons. Or else their fire will destroy the very thing they sought to conquer," the voice turned rather melancholic as the queen turned quiet. While the rest of us just sat there waiting for her to continue.
"Is she dead?" Aman asked with a slightly confused expression.
"Not yet," the queen spoke again.
She then continued,"my life is connected with the planet itself. So I will die only if the planet is dead. Take Ebony, she will guide you on your path."
And then Ebony moved forward as she bowed politely before speaking to me," please follow me. There is something that we spirits wish for you to see."
And once again we followed behind Ebony, wondering where else she was taking us this time.
