VRMMO: My first Contractee is Yandere

Chapter 87 Last Floor and Rewards

A thick fog enveloped the floor. After a brief sonic check from Samurai, it seemed we were in a giant colosseum-like space. At the center, the dungeon boss sat waiting. There didn't seem to be any specific boss arena, meaning smaller enemies would join the battle as well.

After killing a few mobs, we quickly realized they spawned infinitely.

"A short, decisive battle followed by an immediate retreat... Seems like that's our only option for this 10th floor."

"Got it."

"Rasetsu○, Nero, are both of you ready? Don't stray too far."

As soon as Atri dispelled Samurai, Jackjack dashed forward, followed closely by Atri using a soundless running technique. Their movements made them look like master and apprentice ninjas.

Flying monsters, like bats, specialized in scouting, descended from the sky. Without stopping, Atri and Jackjack cut down the bats as they ran.

Up ahead, five orcs blocked our path.

Atri and Jackjack briefly exchanged glances, each throwing items. Atri tossed two small sickles, while Jackjack threw a sturdy rope.

Two orcs were struck in the head by the sickles, and the rope ensnared the remaining three as it wrapped around the fallen bodies. I quickly fired off a silent attack spell, [Present Silent], and we slipped past them.

If it weren't for the fog, we would've been in a brawl. Without it, the noise would've alerted enemies, and we'd be in the middle of a chaotic battle with limited visibility.

After breaking through two more groups of enemies, we finally stood before a massive dragon.

It was an unsightly, poisonous-colored dragon—not beautiful in the least. However, its overwhelming presence and majestic size were undeniable.

A massive reptile, easily several meters tall.

Its wings were torn in several places. From its brow, a cluster of horns sprouted, and four irregularly moving tails swayed behind it.

Atri, holding her sickle, muttered under her breath.

"What do we do, sensei?"

"Hm… Let's obliterate it with full force, shall we?"

"Understood."

Atri nodded and summoned:

"Come forth, Roro."

A deep, growling sound echoed: "Gararara..."

Roro's punch slammed the dragon's face into the ground. Immediately after, Roro attempted to continue the attack, but his head was crushed by the dragon's front claws.

In an instant, Roro's HP was completely depleted.

Starting with Roro is stable, but he goes down too quickly, which is unfortunate. However, since he's a fast-resurrecting tamed monster, there might be another chance to summon him depending on the situation.

Roro's strength lies in the fact that he absolutely cannot be ignored.

If left unchecked, his power can disrupt the battlefield.

Because of this, the enemy can't help but focus, even if only for a moment, on the huge Roro rather than the smaller Liora. While the enemy is distracted, the newly stealth-enabled Liora closes the distance, sacrificing Roro.

Liora's large scythe is infused with "Deathblade," "Lifesteal Blade," and "Killing Blade."

Additionally, with "Berserk" activated, the blow cuts deep into even the dragon's front legs.

"Gaaaaah!"

As the dragon howls in pain, Jackjack's rapier gleams.

"Rapier Arts: Explosive Thrust."

After throwing something, Jackjack's rapier thrusts into the dragon's hind legs, severing the muscles. He had thrown an iron stake imbued with a curse into the wound.

He immediately retreats.

The dragon's tail swings to strike where Jackjack once was, but it hits nothing as he has already vanished.

"Liora."

Liora deactivates "Berserk" and calls forth Samurai.

In the blink of an eye, Samurai transforms into an octopus and moves to pin down the dragon's head, which was still embedded in the ground. For a brief moment, Samurai completely halts the dragon's movements.

Though Samurai is slashed by the dragon's claws, Rasetsu-san, who has learned "Light Magic," heals him.

I can't afford to fall behind.

I bestow "Dark Aura" upon Liora.

The arts in use are "Status Infliction," "Damage Infliction," and "MP Drain." Liora is now a danger zone. Even for a dragon, approaching is a deadly mistake.

The dragon is paralyzed.

The dragon, now twitching from the paralysis, exposes its neck vulnerably. Liora, spinning her eyes, looks up at the gigantic creature that should have been feared.

"I'll take your neck—Moon Devourer."

The skill "Moonlight Scythe Arts" activates, specifically the active art "Moon Devourer." Even the dragon's robust defenses are no match for the scythe art "Beheading."

Without resistance, the dragon's head is severed.

In the end, the dragon perished without ever understanding what had attacked it.

Without paying any heed to the dragon's defeat, Liora spoke calmly.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Let's retreat, Sensei."

"Yes, indeed! The monsters are gathering!"

Samurai extends his tentacles to hold off the approaching monsters. We are quickly surrounded by large numbers and speed.

At that moment, Rasetsu-san uses "Manifestation."

A towering woman, as large as Roro, suddenly dominates the space.

"Nero, store the dragon's corpse and the drops!"

"Understood."

"I'm counting on you!"

My reply probably goes unheard, but I still collect the rewards as instructed. It seems Jackjack has already grabbed the treasure chest that appeared after the boss was defeated.

Rasetsu-san scatters "Shining Shower."

As weaker enemies are pierced by glowing swords of light, I finish collecting everything.

Liora and the others begin running.

After using the art "One Wing of Chesed," Liora activates "Berserk" again.

Liora sweeps away the monsters ahead with the momentum of an unstoppable force. She takes damage from projectiles and magic, but it doesn't matter.

Liora is almost invincible now.

Thanks to regeneration and Rasetsu-san's healing, she recovers instantly.

"God, God, God, God, God!"

Even the monsters seem to hesitate as Liora mutters continuously. They are quickly and mercilessly overwhelmed.

Jackjack laughs.

"This is exhilarating! Here, a parting gift."

From his pocket, Jackjack pulls out a small bomb.

"I might as well have some fun, too."

I toss a bomb I crafted through alchemy as a little bonus. The monsters are blasted away, and I'm feeling good. All this experience is pouring in!

We've reached the ninth floor.

A little girl drenched in blood and an almost unscathed old man.

The old man laughs happily.

"As expected of Liora-dono. You've made things quite easy for me."

"It was easy for me too."

It seems Rasetsu-san's "Manifestation" has worn off. She returns to her fluffy, balloon-like form, bouncing up and down contentedly.

A chat message comes in.

Rasetsu: "Can we distribute the rewards now?"

Nero: "Sure."

Rasetsu: "Liora made it easy for us this time. You should take more."

Nero: "We learned a lot too. Equal split is fine."

Rasetsu: "No, no."

Nero: "Let's just go with an equal share to keep it simple."

Rasetsu: "I appreciate it."

Now, it's time for the exciting reward distribution! We received a hefty reward.

Considering the size and difficulty of the dungeon, it wouldn't have been worth the effort if the rewards weren't substantial. After all, what's the point of dungeon content if the rewards aren't appealing?

Liora acquired a new ring.

Oh, by the way, we didn't use the ring we took from Geese. Its performance is too specialized, and no one else would be able to handle it. It has quirks like breaking after one use, having a cooldown of a month, or causing permanent burns. It was more trouble than it was worth, so we destroyed it to prevent it from falling back into Geese's hands.

Here are the stats of the new ring:

Magic Ring [Zoomer's Reverse Ring]

Rarity: Rare

Level: 56

Skills: [Enhanced Activity], [3% Damage Reduction]

When equipped, this ring increases your stats when afflicted by status effects. You can even turn debuffs like silence into buffs or slightly mitigate unfavorable conditions. It's an intriguing item, though I'll swap it out if I find something better. You can only equip two rings at a time, after all.

I'm definitely not removing [Tete's Sacrificial Ring].

Though once I've used its effect, I could technically take it off. Losing it, however, would be a disaster.

Another notable acquisition was a magic bag.

It's like a holster you can strap to your thigh, allowing you to store small items like scythes and potions. Its capacity is limited, but it does make accessing combat items easier.

Additionally, we obtained two Golem Cores, which was our primary goal. One of the conditions for diving into this dungeon with Jack-Jack was that it had to be a place with a higher likelihood of encountering golems. It seems we weren't lied to.

We also gathered materials for crafting more cores. I might even be able to make a few myself, though they won't be of top quality.

Another drop was a mask from a mimic. It's not a combat item, so I probably won't use it, though it seems handy in some situations.
