Chapter 746: NEW
Chapter 746: NEW
Cassarae fell into silence, allowing a long pause to linger in the air before she finally spoke again.
"Alright. Tell me if you need anything."
"What Tasia's already done is likely enough."
"Are you the one who sent her to me?"
"No. But I know that she wouldn't miss this opportunity. And judging by your answer, it seems that I'm right."
Cassarae rolled her eyes, but she had no way to refute.
In the past, she had been able to keep up with Sylas' banter at least to some extent, but these days, she found herself on the losing end more and more often.
She wondered if that was because of his stats or if it was because he was just becoming more famous.
"Since you're so smart, tell me what she's already done."
Sylas' lip curled into the slightest of smiles.
"It's not about what she's done. It's about her presence alone. It is enough for me to gain the opening I need."
"She's only been here for a bit over three days now, if I include the time you were out."
"That's enough. In fact, if there was more time, it would have the reverse effect."
Without saying much else, Sylas took a step and vanished into the corridors of the City Lord Mansion, his thoughts only known to himself.
Cassarae shook her head. This insufferable bastard was lucky she trusted him.
"How did I end up like a pitiful housewife. This won't do. I'll have to get his mother on my side. That'll set him straight."
There was no one in this world that could put Sylas on a straight and narrow path aside from his mother.
Neither his grandfather nor father ever scolded him, mostly because he was such a model child that he never had need for such things.
His mother, however, seemed like an exceptionally nice woman-and that she was-but Sylas knew that of his relatives, she was probably the most demanding.
In fact... much of his strict, rigorous adherence to discipline didn't come from watching his grandfather's workouts or watching his father's work ethic. It was from his mother drilling him to be the best that he could be.
Of course... even then it wasn't necessarily enough. Otherwise, Sylas would have accomplished more than just becoming a tenured Professor.
That said, when his mother's wishes most aligned with Sylas' goal, that was when her words were the most potent.
Cassarae grinned. Wasn't Sylas' goal to get into her pants? His mother had always had a fondness for her because their personalities were very similar.
Although Isolde wasn't nearly as crude with her language, their hearts were colored the same.
It was time to recruit some people in this battlefield of hers.
Somehow, Cassarae felt this was far more important than the coming battle.
At some unknown time, she had already forgotten her worries as though she was confident that Sylas would be able to handle it all seamlessly.
**
Nosphaleen appeared before Sylas, wrapped in a delicate light of an array of colors. Delicate pinks, sky blues, and dreamy violets swirled about her body, protecting her decency as she slowly awoke from a deep slumber.
The lights slowly faded and she landed on the ground with a gentle sway of her body.
A wind kicked up as her wings flared out and settled down.
Soon, her body was revealed to the world. Her face seemed more beautiful, the curve of her body enticing one's sight. Her pair of breasts hung somewhat small compared to the well- endowed Cassarae, but the sweep of their dew drop shape, and the exotic gentle grey-blue they exuded more than made up for it.
However, below her waist, there was no longer the body of a humanoid. Instead, it had been replaced by the powerful scaled trunk of a Serpentes.
She loomed over Sylas now when she had once been far shorter, a light of lust pulsing in her eyes before she slowly controlled it.
It wasn't yet time for her heat cycle, but this urge to procreate was always strongest after an evolution. Between that and the strong connection she felt with Sylas, she truly wanted to bed him now.
But seeing the indifferent coolness in his eyes despite her beauty was like a bucket of cold water over her head.
When they first met, Sylas was still quite influenced by her Charisma. Now, she had grown substantially stronger and even had a Legendary Comprehension to match with it.
And yet, somehow, he felt even more immune to it now than he had been before. Despite all the advantages she had gained, this now master of hers was still growing much faster than she was.
"The Frost Bane Armor," Sylas said. "Where is it?"
Nosphaleen blinked in realization and looked down at herself. After noticing her nude state, she wasn't embarrassed, but instead just a bit surprised. More than that, she was shocked by
the state of her tail.
"This... I am not certain, master."
Nosphaleen was taken aback again. The word master flowed from her mouth so naturally that it was almost scary.
Sylas was a bit surprised as well, but thanks to Insight, he quickly understood. This was probably a natural inclination of all of his Contracts. It was just that Nosphaleen was the only one who could speak so clearly for now.
Though he didn't like the loss of another Legendary Path Item, Sylas also felt that since its disappearance went to good cause, it was still acceptable.
Now, it was time to see if he would be able to keep his three-day promise or not.
