Chapter 747: Mimic

Chapter 747: Mimic

Sylas stood before the gates of Guiz City, his gaze calm.

He could feel that several had their attention placed on him. But did it matter...?

The General of Guiz City had returned.

With a step, he crossed the threshold, directly bypassing the waiting line of people eager to make it into the city.

However, he had hardly taken this step when he could feel several powerful auras descending toward his position. In the blink of an eye, three Generals had appeared, two women and a man, all wreathed in the same crimson armor.

It was clear... that they had been waiting for this.

Maybe it wasn't to the point that they had been waiting since the moment Sylas disappeared, but it was clear that with the sound of war drums approaching, it was inevitable that they would be more alert these days than any other.

[General Bergouse]

[Level: 46]

[General Broussard]

[Level: 39]

[General Versaille]

[Level: 46]

The anomaly among them was clear. It was a young woman with a last name that Sylas recognized quite well.

Broussard. That was the very same last name as the man who had almost gotten Cassarae's mother incarcerated, the very same madman responsible for the current salinated state of the Amazonian Wilds and a traitor to the Human Race.

It seemed that they had infiltrated quite deeply into this city. Sylas wasn't sure how they managed to get a General, but honestly speaking...

It didn't matter.

That was because he was certain that the method they had used wasn't the same as he had. If this person had directly killed a General like Sylas had, this would be news and Cassarae would have definitely mentioned it.

"General Grimblade. Please come with us."

Sylas walked right past, ignoring them. He didn't even bother to say a word, nor did he feel the need to.

Did it matter if they brought one General or three?

"Stop right there!" General Broussard barked out, reaching for Sylas' shoulder to stop him.

However, the instant she did, she found herself being flipped over, the world spinning around her.

Before she could react, her armor burst into ash, spikes of danger overwhelming her. She barely managed to use her Will to protect her body from Sylas' intention at the last moment. But that didn't stop her armor from crumbling.

Sylas didn't even pause.

His fist descended down from above and General Broussard's eyes opened wide in her final

moment.

BANG!

Her head splattered like a collapsed watermelon, blood and gore spilling out in all directions and painting the cobbled stone red.

The world froze.

It all happened so quickly. Not a single person expected to see a murder occur just like this in the middle of the street. But Sylas stood to his full height as though nothing at all had happened, stepping over the female General's body and continuing into the distance.

'Learning grappling is definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made...'

The Scorned Wraps were a curse, but they were probably also one of his greatest weapons. So long as he could catch someone off guard, it was a one-way ticket to hell.

Controlling someone's body against their Will allowed him to trigger the effects of the Scorned Wraps without fail. In the past, the only way to do that was to overwhelm them with power. But now, it wasn't nearly as difficult.

General Broussard was certainly not weak. Unfortunately for her, a single mistake around Sylas had cost her, her life.

The two remaining Generals hesitated, their gazes still filled with shock. General Broussard was still weaker than them, and between there was the Level 40 demarcating line between them—something that existed every ten Levels-it was an even larger gap than their 7 Level difference would assume.

But... even they wouldn't dare to say that they could kill her with a single strike.

In fact, they were very much hesitant to even try and stop Sylas again.

In the end, though, they had no choice.

"Stop!" General Bergouse roared out. "We are under orders of City Lord Guiz to escort you back!"

Sylas' steps paused finally and he looked back. "For what purpose?"

The two Generals felt their brows twitch. Shouldn't the fact you just killed a General without

reason be enough?

However, Sylas just stood there, waiting.

"You are being Court Martialed for neglecting your duty."

"Is that so?"

Sylas didn't seem surprised.

The last time General Guiz had fallen into his trap easily.

It seemed that this time he would do so again.

It was quite literally the most foolish angle to come at Sylas with.

While it was true that military officials weren't as free as Nobles, and even had to spend Merit Points in order to take leave of absences, Generals weren't subject to the same conditions. This was why Sylas was able to leave for so long, seemingly without consequence. However, it was also obvious that if this was the only plan City Lord Guiz had, it wouldn't be enough. No matter how incompetent the Sylph, there was no way he wouldn't know this as

well.

In that case, there was definitely something else waiting for him. Maybe they wouldn't even try to go the normal route and go as far as to take whatever punishment came with killing him

directly.

This latter situation was definitely the worst-case scenario for Sylas, but given his calm expression, one would have never thought that he had already considered it.

"Okay."

Sylas stunned the crowd when he allowed himself to be taken away. Shouldn't he at least try

to run?

But in the end, he did nothing at all...

General Bergouse and Versaille inwardly sighed a breath of relief. So long as they did their job,

the rest of it should be easy enough.

However, what no one saw was that as the trio, two Generals and a prisoner, walked by an

alley, another figure appeared...

It was none other than Sylas.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

As for the individual who was captured.

That was Nosphaleen.

At some unknown point between Sylas killing Broussard and being taken away, they had

swapped.

Mesmeryx Mimic.
